5 Dividend Stocks for the Next 50 Years (from fool)

If you're looking for financially secure companies, there's no better indicator than a long history of paying dividends to shareholders. 2010-02-26 today's data

The Commerce Department reported real gross domestic product for the fourth quarter came in at 5.9%, which is a 0.2% upward revision from the preliminary number reported in January. The report stated the acceleration in real GDP, which increased 2.2% in the third quarter, reflected a slowdown in the rate at which business drew down inventories. Despite the increase, real GDP for 2009 declined 2.4%.

In other news, existing-home sales in decreased 7.2% to a seasonally adjusted annual rate of 5.05 million units in January from a revised 5.44 million in December. However, sales remain 11.5% above the 4.53 million-unit level in January 2009. The national median existing-home price for all housing types was $164,700 in January, which is unchanged from a year earlier, even though distressed homes distort the median price.

Dr Pepper Snapple Group

but what's the fact?

the fact is the market keep going up after it touched 1044.5

what will happen later on? !

today's data (2010-02-25)

Initial jobless claims rose by 22,000 to 496,000, worse than the expected 460,000 new claims. Continuing claims were also higher than expected.

Durables orders increased more than expected, rising 3% in January compared to an anticipated 1.5% increase. However, excluding transportation, orders actually fell 0.6%.

the trend is still going to UP

UPTREND is still kept. it's too early to say that downtrend is coming.

these days are a good setup for this Friday.

buy as you can with your own money.
I won't say too much before this Friday if I didn't find out the trend is changed.

since I already said it too much times.

pick for this week is

JPM is a strong Buy.
Price right now is 39.97

Do your own research.

today's data 02-23-2010

The Case-Shiller Home Price Index showed a slowing in the year-over-year decline in housing prices. The data showed a broad stabilization in housing prices, but the progress was uneven across the country.

Consumer confidence fell in February after the index showed an uptick in January. High unemployment levels and a cloudy future seems to have weighted on consumer sentiment.

5 Stocks Picks

please check them before you make your own decision

Estée Lauder Cos.
A solid foundation is as important to foreign expansion as it is to a good makeup routine. Just ask Estée Lauder (EL: 58.80*). The maker of brands such as Clinique and M.A.C. started advertising its skin care and cosmetics products in high-end Chinese fashion magazines years before it started selling them in the country. The early buzz set the stage for strong growth that’s helping to shore up the company’s bottom line today.

Expeditors International of Washington
In 1979 a scrappy Seattle upstart opened a small office and helped companies with the ins and outs of moving their goods from Asia to the West Coast. Three decades later, Expeditors (EXPD: 36.90*) is one of the world’s largest freight forwarders, with promising footholds in some of the fastest-growing countries.

Illinois Tool Works
Products made by Illinois Tool Works (ITW: 45.60*) turn up in cars, computers and six-packs (you can thank the company for those clear plastic rings that connect the cans). While the outlook for any single product can wax and wane with the overall economy, analysts say the sheer diversity of ITW’s offerings helps it weather recessions better than most. “ITW makes a broad range of very unsexy products that are much in demand,” says Michael Cuggino, portfolio manager of the Permanent Portfolio fund.

Baxter International
Buoyed by steady demand for its health care products, Baxter International (BAX: 57.04*) came through the recession just fine. It’s the market recovery that’s giving stockholders headaches. After holding up better than most in the 2008 meltdown, shares of the Deerfield, Ill., company gained just 10 percent last year, less than half the gain in the overall market. That means investors can now pick up a “dominant, high-quality franchise” on the cheap, says Kent Croft, comanager of the Croft Value fund, who has been buying shares lately.

Marvell Technology Group
The recession hit Marvell Technology Group (MRVL: 19.39*) hard. Orders dried up, and the semiconductor maker laid off 15 percent of its staff as it posted a loss. But what a bounce back: In its quarter ended Oct. 31, Marvell made more money than in the previous two fiscal years combined. Sales jumped 10 percent on new products and a pickup in orders from technology firms making everything from netbooks to networking equipment.

buy now

time to buy, and time to long

it's a daily low right now.

Monday, February 22, 2010

It means the trend is not changed in my opinion if I didn't post nothing in between

it's still buy and hold right now.

at least 2% up from here.

the chance break down is very low.

Some of friends send emails to me, but I cannot reply back one by one. and sometimes if the trend is not changing, I can not shout "buy buy buy, buy on any dip" every day. or write it down "sell sell sell, keep your position below 50% or 40%" something every day.

:) it's boring sometime, if I repeat repeat, you will say "shut up" to me. I should keep my mouth shut before some important things happens.

Cheers for all bulls

5 National Defense Stocks for 2010(zt)

5 National Defense Stocks for 2010
December 9, 2009
http://navelliergrowth.investorplace.com/stocks/defense-stocks-obama-nobel-peace-prize.html

5 “PEACEKEEPING” STOCKS TO BUY UNDER OBAMA’S WATCH
President Obama is traveling to Norway to accept the Nobel Peace Prize tomorrow. Even though the U.S. leader is about to receive a commendation to peace, Obama is a wartime president. In fact, less than 10 days ago, the Commander-in-Chief announced that he would escalate the war in Afghanistan by sending in 30,000 more American troops.

Nobel Laureate or not, it’s becoming clearer by the day that President Obama intends to aggressively safeguard the peace process in the New Year.

Politics aside, it’s going to take a lot of bullets, tanks, missiles, communication equipment and digital technology to help his administration achieve that end. As investors, we should see this as an opportunity to make money in 2010.

From stocks that train foreign security forces to companies that ward off digital and biohazardous threats, the business of peacekeeping is booming right now. Here are my top five stocks cashing in on this trend.

NATIONAL DEFENSE STOCK #1: GENCORP (GY)
For over half a century, GenCorp’s (GY) aerospace and defense company and primary subsidiary, Aerojet-General, has been an industry leader and pioneer in the development of critical propulsion system technologies that have strengthened the U.S. military and facilitated the exploration of space. The company’s propulsion products are used in missiles, maneuvering systems, launch vehicles, spacecraft and satellites.

Its major customers include the U.S. Department of Defense, NASA, Boeing, Lockheed Martin and Raytheon. Aerojet is the only domestic supplier of all four propulsion types—namely solid, liquid, air-breathing and electric. The company’s systems have flown on manned and unmanned missions for NASA since the start of the U.S. Space Program, and it has served as the DoD’s primary supplier of propulsion products. I rate this stock “Strong Buy.”

NATIONAL DEFENSE STOCK #2: SOURCEFIRE (FIRE)
Sourcefire (FIRE) is an IT firm that develops network security and information management software. The company's innovative 3D software (for discover, determine, and defend) is the gold standard for government agencies and large enterprises in the finance, health care, manufacturing and technology industries. Its customers have included PricewaterhouseCoopers, SAIC and Ernst & Young. The company also has partnerships with larger security service providers such as Symantec and VeriSign, allowing it to tap into bigger revenue streams.

In the third quarter, Sourcefire's sales rose 35% to $27.4 million compared with $20.3 million in the same quarter a year ago. The stock is a great buy for 2010 as cyber security remains a top priority for businesses and the government.

NATIONAL DEFENSE STOCK #3: ELBIT SYSTEMS (ESLT)
Israel's Elbit Systems (ESLT) is the driving force behind the military of this Middle Eastern country. ESLT supplies defense electronics for military operations on land, water and air. The company's contracts include work on such iconic war machines as the F-15 and F-16 fighters, the Comanche helicopter and the Bradley Fighting Vehicle. Its products also include helmet-mounted vision systems, weapon navigation systems and unmanned airborne vehicles

Israel and the U.S. account for more than one-third of the company's sales. And with Iran making a fuss over its pursuit of nuclear weapons, it stands to reason that Israel will be ramping up its military spending in response. That makes ESLT a great buy right now.

NATIONAL DEFENSE STOCK #4: ARCSIGHT (ARST)
Modern threats have to come from a gun or a bomb—digital security is increasingly important as hackers and computer viruses continue to get more aggressive in the 21st century.

That's what makes ArcSight (ARST) such a great buy right now. This software company helps protect businesses through digital security and virus safeguards. ArcSight counts Cisco Systems, IBM and McAfee among its strategic partners in digital security—showing that this is no bargain-basement software program. Those Fortune 500 companies wouldn't leave their network security to just anyone.

ArcSight is an industry leader in digital security and a great buy right now.

NATIONAL DEFENSE STOCK #5: PRECISION CASTPARTS (PCP)
Precision Castparts (PCP) is a small metal fabrication company with a significant military and aerospace component. The company is still not very well-known outside of national security circles. Nevertheless, Precision Castparts has been an amazing stock.

今天还是没有等到, 仅仅是discount rate. 但是fund rate已经不远了。

真正的牛市会在加息的日子里正式启动。

现在的推荐仍然是
buy on dip, buy what as you can.

现在的股市也就是3%左右的震荡向上。

Fed Raises Discount Rate to 0.75% From 0.50%

The U.S. Federal Reserve shocked markets Thursday by unexpectedly raising the Fed Discount Rate by 0.25 percentage points to 0.75 percent.

today's data 2-18-2009

We told you "Buy on the dip", "follow the trend".

the trend is going up and will go more higher.

What happens today?

the data is so bad. however the market still going up, right ?

U.S. jobless claimsrose 31,000 to 473,000 in the latest week, a sharper jump than the 5,000 increase economists had anticipated. The unemployment data renewed worries about the labor market's sluggish recovery.

Meanwhile, the U.S. Producer Price Index rose a more-than-expected 1.4% in January due to higher energy prices. The core PPI, which excludes energy and food prices, rose 0.3%. Overall, there were few signs that inflation was heating up enough to warrant higher interest rates from the Fed.
