When we use Ajax call with https, it works very well either with Absolute or Relative URLs in IE and Firefox.
But safari won't. they just take the absolute URLs. When the funtion createXMLHttpRequest got called, safari ignore the incorrect response from internet. then your ajax chain is broken. I don't know the reason why the system didn't switch http into https
